Gene Kerman: Entry 1

It's year 0 Day 1- At least that's what I've decided to call it anyway. I'm now in charge of what's left of all Kerbal Kind. 5 of us came out of the Hibernation Chambers after the attack on the New KSC. We were down there a long time, but we have no idea how long yet. Thankfully the Hibernation Chamber, Goo Vats, and stores of parts survived upon farther inspection. We also have the experimental Cloning vats to work with. That was the rest of Plan C. If all else fails, rebuild the Kerbal Race in the likeness of the best of us. I hate that it come to this, but we must press on.

Day 2- After waking the others, we've began to scour the KSC looking for anything that will tell us what happened. The outlying center is non existent. It seems only the hardened buildings remain standing. The VAB is entirely intact. I'm not sure why no one hid in there, but they didn't. The SPH and runway are only minorly damaged, and the top section the science complex is what recieved the most damage. Most of this Jeb and Bob can repair. I'll take Bill with me to work on getting the cloning vats working. Valentina will continue to scour for supplies. We're good on food, water, and power, but very short on parts.

Day 135- It's been awhile since I've written. A long while. We just had so much work to get going. We're able to clone 5 Kerbals at a time, as they require the Hibernation chamber to mature. They need to be educated, but that is easy. Something about this process makes them learn fast. We were the best they said, and these clones are all mixes of our DNA. We'll have a full crew running in no time, as the first few Kerbals we...bred? Are getting to work increasing the efficiency that we repair damages with. We'll be good as new in no time! I probably won't write for awhile again, at least until something major happens. This is so hard to keep up with.

Year 1, Day 1- We've got everything back up to speed. The main KSC is in full working order and we've got a couple dozen Kerbals up and working. We do have some problems though. Our science and manufacturing center had to be rebuilt from scratch. We had the building plans, but are missing almost all the technical and scientific data we had on space exploration. We'll have to start again, but this time we'll do it right! No more wars, not more pain. No more death caused by other Kerbals. We're reaching for the stars now. I've assigned what we now call the original Kerbals to various administrative duties. I can't lose them, they're too valuable to us now.

Jeb is charge of the Rocketry division. Valentina is in Charge of the Aerospace Initiative. Bob is the Chief engineer, and Bill is the Chief Scientist. I of course am the Mission controller, and oversee all duties and activities. Together, we'll lead Kerbalkind to a bright Future. Together we will rebuild it all. We plan on launching some rockets today. Doing some simple testing. We'll see how that goes,

Year 1, Day 2- Disaster! We had our first death. Isavie died when her rocket ripped apart on atmospheric reentry. I....I don't know what to say. We are all saddened because of this news, despite the fact that we had several successful launches that brought in quite a bit of scientific data and allowed us to work on some old world airplane parts. I think, we will pause for a time. Allow each of us to mourn this loss, and then press on. Our next task is going to be scouting the area around the KSC, and then the world. We need to know how long we were in hibernation, and what has happened to our planet.
